Previous discussions on the integration of sociology and economics perspectives have mostly focused on historical context and classic texts. This article starts from the “property rights issue” in transitional China and explores the path and direction of integration of sociology and economics through the social dimension of property rights analysis. The article points out that the overall process of property rights changes since China's reform has presented “continuous spectrum of property rights”. Within the same system or even the same organizational framework, the coexistence and integration of multiple forms of property rights such as state-owned property rights, collective property rights, and individual property rights constitute important characteristics of Chinese property rights practice. The sociology of property rights emphasizes that property rights are the social recognition of resource appropriation. And the social contractual and multidimensional nature of the definition of property rights provides a persuasive analytical framework for explaining the process of China's property rights reform based on the public property rights system. At the same time, it is an important supplement to the perspective of property economics.
