Abstract:Since the outburst of SARS in 2003, there have been three great changes of the crisis coverage and its academic research in China. Firstly, the angles of the crisis coverage and its study have covered the request of the public and the vulnerable groups. Secondly, various public emergencies have been covered in considerably different ways, in terms of their reporting mechanism, pattern, depth and opening degree. Thirdly, the hi-tech products and the new communication media including the Internet and cell phone have jeopardized the traditional media’s domination of the crisis coverage, making an enormous impact on our country’s crisis coverage.
