Abstract:An academic study as a profession has a strictly limited meaning. The particular dilemma of Western philosophy arises in the process of how philosophy presents itself as absolute knowledge. It has profound implications for human civilization as a whole as an object of study. Unlike the “bread scholar”, the “true scholar” requires the recognition of true knowledge and tasks. It requires that one restrain one's will to study and learn honestly. It requires constant dissatisfaction with one's academic research, the long and painful search for the true meaning of human life. From the perspective of philosophical criticism one should comprehend the limits of intellectual democracy and equality. One cannot deviate from the path of creation. Each science speaks of itself by expressing its encounter or convergence with the universal and the particular. Rational understanding makes the grounds of science evident, and historical understanding makes the facts of science clear.
