Against the backdrop of the rapid development of the Internet, the rise of Gig economy has become one of the hottest phenomena in the employment sector today. The basic Gig economy, which is oriented towards daily life services, has been made possible by the following factors: the change in the form and content of consumption due to the pan-consumer ideology of society and the advancement of Internet technology, which has provided the basis for the emergence of the basic Gig economy; the de-skilled form and content of labour in the basic Gig economy, which satisfies the essence of the labour-intensive service industry; and the labour influx required for the expansion of the Gig economy due to the algorithm-supported labour. The de-skilled labour form and labour content of the basic Gig economy met the needs of the labour-intensive service sector and made possible the influx of labour needed for expansion; the algorithmically-enabled labour control of the Gig economy transformed the platform from an information broker to a re-organiser of the odd-labour economy, driving society as a whole into the maintenance of the odd-labour economy. Although the emergence of the casual labour economy is an inevitable part of social transformation, the labour instability it brings is still worthy of consideration by society as a whole.
