Uncertainty of New Employment Form: Digital Labor in Platform Capital Space and the Reflection on It

Under the influence of the rapid development of digital technology, the flexible employment pattern supported by information and communication technology emerges as the times require. Platform digital labor is one of the specific representations of the new forms of employment in the platform capital space. It has some common characteristics: flexible time-space arrangement and strict multiple control, emotion monetization and formalized emotion, low threshold and de-skilled labor, extensive employment relationship and de-labor relationship. Digital labor has an impact on easing the contradiction of labor market and spreading public value, and is promoting the upgrading of labor laws and labor security systems. Although there are many positive factors, the emergence of new forms of employment is accompanied by many uncertainties, which are mainly reflected in the uncertainty of the paradigm and methodology of digital labor theory, the uncertainty the professional identity and development of laborers, the uncertainty of digital governance and labor protection. All these are worthy of our vigilance.
