Abstract:A survey of the articles concerning research on classroom teaching published in major domestic FLT journals in the past ten years leads to the following findings: The research history in last 16 years can be divided into Prosperous Period and Stagnated Period. Features of Prosperous Period are: (1) there has been a steady increase in the number of research articles; (2) special emphasis has been laid on from teaching methods to teaching process; (3) the present research focuses on introduction to overseas research in this field of study and description of teaching process; (4) the prevailing research method in non-empirical research. Features of Stagnated Period are: Certain problems exist in current research, such as exclusion of some important topics, neglecting of study and disproportionate use of empirical research method. Enlightenment of fields and methods of study is given by the two periods. Directions for future research are predicted and proposals are also offered.
