Abstract This article studies the effect of abusive supervision on subordinates’ attitude including affective commitment and emotional exhaustion, exploring the moderating role of generation difference in the mechanism. The researchers Collected 661 valued samples, using hierarchical regression and grouping regression to test the hypothesis proposed in this paper. The result shows that abusive supervision has a significant effect on affective commitment and emotional exhaustion, Generation difference moderates these relationships, The relationship between abusive supervision and emotional exhaustion is stronger for New Generation than Cultural Revolution Generation and the relationship between abusive supervision and affective commitment is weaker for New Generation than Cultural Revolution. Strengths, practical implications, limitations and directions for future research are provided.
