Relationship among Family Social Capital, EO and Venture Performance in Start-up Stage |

Abstract Based on a sample of 135 enterprises, the empirical research explores the relationship among family social capital, EO and venture performance by using Multiple Regression Analysis and Structural Equation Model. Results indicate that structure capital has significant positive impact on innovativeness while concerns capital can positively affect risk-taking, which also show that cognition capital influences both innovativeness and pro-activeness. In the meantime, they also reflect that structure capital contributes to promote the enterprises’ competitive performance, while concerns capital helps to improve competitive performance as well as potential performance, and cognition capital boosts the potential performance of enterprises. Particularly, entrepreneurial orientation acts as a notable mediator in the relationship chains among the family social capital, EO and venture performance in start-up stage.
