Abstract In these years, it has been paid attention to intellectual capital as intangible asset of corporations by researchers and practitioners. It is reviewed that although there are several papers focused on the relationship between human resource management and intellectual capital from functional or configurative perspectives, there is less research from high performance work system. Especially, there is less survey studies on how high performance work system takes effect on whole fully aspects of intellectual capital. It is concluded that high performance work system can develop every aspects of intellectual capital and the matching fit between employee skill and organizational structure and work motivation by using a sample of 204 companies from Beijing, Shanghai, Guangdong and Shanxi. In the end, it is discussed about the theoretical and practical implication and made suggestions on this area of research in future.
