The creativity of knowledge workers plays an important role in improving organizations performance and competitive advantage. The existing research examines how to promote employee creativity from supportive management and other aspects. Since the individual characteristics and environmental factors can interact creativity performance, based on component model of creativity, this article discusses how the different goal orientation of knowledge workers impact on creativity, as well as the role of knowledge sharing and task complexity. Therefore, this article constructs a moderated mediator model, based on 244 knowledge workers supervisoremployee matching questionnaire from different industries, and we empirically found that learning goal orientation has a significant positive effect on employee creativity, while performance goal orientation negatively correlated with employee creativity. Meanwhile, knowledge sharing plays a mediated role in the relationship between learning goal orientation and employee creativity. Starting from the task characteristics, the conclusion also supports the fact that the task complexity positively moderates this mediated relationship. We havent found the relevance between performance goal orientation and knowledge sharing, and task complexity has no moderated effect on that one. Finally, we have given the practice of corporate strategy and future direction.
