In light of Henry Lefebvre’s lived-conceived-perceived triad of spatial theory, this paper focuses on the discussion about Lewis s narrative space from these three levels. In fact, Lewiss fiction was profuse with representations of “spaces” in various ways. These representations were powerfully shaped by the writer’s vigorous thinking and skillful manipulation on the spatial form in narrative, the landscape, the cultural scene, the characterspsychological space and the gender issues in American society. These intricate thoughts also find echo in contemporary spatial criticism and cultural flows.
