Abstract:The Construction of New Village signifies a new stage in China's rural reform and development. We need to pay more attention to the achievements and experience of the reforms implemented by now and be cautious about the rural construction experience of other countries. With regard to the current wave of emulating the Korean experience of New Village Movement, this article analyzes the strengths and shortcomings of the Korean xperience and compare the conditions of China and Korea in three aspects, the role and function of the government in rural construction, the differences in purpose of rural construction, and the mode of organization and the responsible agent in rural construction. It argues that there are many limitations in applying the Korean experience to China and it should not be copied simplistically.
