Abstract: After October Revolution, the Soviet Union's party system experienced from the envisagement of multi-party system to the shortly-lived attempt to the multi-party cooperation system and to the final shape of one-party system. Between 1980s and 1990s, the Soviet Union's party system again changed fundamentally, transforming from one-party system to multi-party system, and ending with CPSU's losing its ruling status. The Marxist ruling parties should draw profound lessons from the transmutation of the Soviet Union's party system.
