Abstract The key to the development of China’s fruit production industry is to translate the advantage of cost into the advantage of competitive fruit quality for further realization of the supply-side reform by mean of cutting (cost) and raising (quality). From the perspective of markup, with the provincial panel data of China’s main apple producing areas, this article conducts a comprehensive analysis and comparison of the comprehensive effect of agricultural circulation infrastructure on China’s fruit production price and production cost. The empirical results show that: the construction of agricultural circulation infrastructure significantly enhances the bonus rate of the farmer’s fruit. The transaction-place infrastructure and the low-grade highway have the big influence on the improvement of the apple’s markup. The markup of apples has risen as time goes on. In addition, compared with the provinces with smaller planting scales, the unit circulation has greater improvement on the markup of fruit in provinces with larger planting scales. The research results can provide reference for the development of fruit industry in China.
