Abstract The Symbiosis Theory is a good methodology for the study of mutually beneficial relationship, which is the essence and foundation of the coordinated development of private equity funds and equity investment project resources. In the framework of symbiosis theory, the paper analyzes the symbiotic system of private equity funds and equity investment project resources from three aspects, including symbiotic units, symbiotic models and symbiotic environments. It empirically concludes that the symbiotic system is asymmetrical mutualism with the data of symbiotic degree. Then it proposes that the key point to realize the stable evolution of the symbiotic system is to accelerate the cultivation of equity investment project resources.
