Abstract Closed-loop supply chain management aims at both ecological and economical benefits. The profitable recycling and reusing are crucial to sustainable development. Since the Closed-loop supply chain adds recycling and reusing links on the basis of linear supply chain, the analysis of the whole closed-loop mode is more complicated. This paper focuses on the closed-loop supply chain in electronics industry. After describing the logic process and the complexity of the closed-loop supply chain, we lead in a successful case of IBM to analyze the business model and the key operation process of IBM's closed-loop supply chain. Combined with Chinese business practice in electronics industry, we draw lessons from aspects of time value, marketing, payment and operation decision.
