Abstract In this paper, the application of the sand cone model in supply chains is discussed and new analysis thoughts are provided in the research of the compositeness of supply chain. The strategic competitive advantage of supply chain can be achieved by improving competitive priorities in a specified sequence: quality, reliability, flexibility, agility, and cost efficiency. This paper provides a theoretical framework, on which a cumulative and sustainable competitive advantage rests.
