| A Positive Research on Fluctuation Trend of Tourism Industrial Agglomeration Degree in China：From 1997 to 2005 |

Abstract In order to quantitatively reflect the agglomeration situation of tourism industry of China, this paper measures the agglomeration degree of tourism industry from 1997 to 2005 by means of the E-G index from three layers—whole country, region and sector in China. Furthermore, the paper describes the fluctuation trend of tourism industrial agglomeration degree and explores the reasons of the trend. The last conclusion is ①most of tourism industry is not suitable for agglomeration except tourism districts or tourism spots unless there is strong carrying capacity of resources as basis②regional space limits should be broken and more space should be taken to agglomeration economies of tourism industry.
