Abstract: Zong Baihua's music thoughts is not only an important part of his aesthetic thoughts, but also an important principle of his art criticism. In existing studies, the musicality of Zong Baihua's aesthetic ideas is relatively weak, and the significance of his music has not been fully explored in different types of artistic forms. He introduces musicality into painting, calligraphy, dance, architecture and other arts, making musicality the highest state of artistic expression. Firstly, he regards music and rhythm as the most important basic forms of beauty in art. Secondly, he reveals the formation of the musical state of Chinese painting and calligraphy, giving a vivid musical interpretation of rhythmic vitality and regarding it as the core standard of Chinese traditional painting. Thirdly, he regards dance as the highest expression of Chinese arts, establishing the theory of the unification of arts and Tao. Finally, he expresses appreciation for the glory of Chinese music culture while criticizing its spiritual decline.
