Abstract: The sinicization of religions is initially proposed by the academic community in the study of the history of Chinese Buddhism. With the rapid expansion of Christianity in China, more scholars actively follow up and argue about the necessity and feasibility of the sinicization of Christianity by summing up the successful experiences of the sinicization of Buddhism and the interpretation to the Islamic Classics with Confucianism. The research has gone through the embryonic, steady and rapid development stages, forming a stable and obvious network of academic cooperation. In 2015, the political community explicitly put forward the “The sinicization of religions” to drive the religious community to play its main role. The political, religious and academic sectors have jointly explored the adaptation of religions to socialist society, the sinicization of the five major religions, religious governance, and the construction of the three teams and so on. On the whole, the research on the sinicization of religions has formed a positive ecology, but issues such as the sinicization of Taoism have been neglected. Consequently, the construction of an interdisciplinary academic cooperation circle, and the establishment of channels of communication between theory and practice are still pending, in order to solve the problems of “who, what and how”, and provide feasible solutions for the practice of the sinicization of religions.
