Abstract:The consumption center, as an important field of China's consumer economy, regional economy, macroeconomic, and international economic development in the new era, is a huge and complex system. Currently, more and more provinces and regions are proposing to build (international) consumer centers (cities), but there is still a relatively vague understanding of the positioning of consumer centers in the entire economic system and consumer center cities in the entire urban system. To avoid homogenization, low-level redundant construction, and effective international competition, on the one hand, it is necessary to strengthen the systematic understanding of consumer centers through positioning and classification analysis, and on the other hand, it is necessary to scientifically position consumer centers at the policy level to accurately promote their classification development. The consumption center has the positioning connotation of consumer distributors, consumer upgrades, consumer processors, consumer appreciation, consumer integrators, consumer innovators, consumer clusters and consumer organizers. According to the regional scope of consumption impact, the consumption center can be divided into international, national, provincial, regional, county and node levels. Consumption centers based on consumption categories and specialties can also be divided into tourism, medical treatment, education, sports, leisure, shopping and other consumption centers based on consumption categories and specialties. Consumption centers at each level and category have their specific development connotation.
