Abstract:What is a memory? How we can acquire memories? This is a key issue that has obsessed the whole history of philosophy. In ancient Greece, people found that their pale finitude could not penetrate a disappeared past, and then they intended to call back the disappeared past by some mysterious powers and summoned deities. Moreover, for modern thinkers, they believe a objective image produced by modern technology. These images disenchant those impossible immanent power, that is, a pure technology of image helps us “resurrect” the past. Between the two positions of memory, Agamben chose a nymphian technology of memory. When we face to images, there becomes an imagination of us, and between image and imagination, a nymphian love come into being, which is the only way for us to access to Mnemosyne. This is the Agamben's singular philosophy of life-image philosophy, meaning that we should, as Nymphe does, to pour our life in image by our love, let us open the closed castle in our mind, and pave the way to the Absolute.
