Based on 792 Entrepreneurial Teams (ET) of public enterprises of Growth Enterprises Market, This study explored the effects of EI composition traits on Research & Development(R&D) intensity from both people-oriented and finance-oriented perspectives. The study found: ET average education, average professional rank, average age and professional rank heterogeneity had significant effect on R&D intensity; the correlation coefficients of ET traits and people-oriented R&D intensity were bigger and more significant than with finance-oriented R&D intensity; the board chairman professional rank was significantly related with R&D intensity, and the EI composition traits explained more R&D intensity variance, supporting Upper Echelon Theory.
