Inter-organizational Relationship Conflict: A New Explanation of Relationship Capital Elements Mismatch and Empirical Test |

Abstract The inter-organizational relationship conflict is full of the whole process of enterprises'cooperation and development, and the conflict management capability directly affects the quality of the cooperation. This paper made a comprehensive explanation to the cause and mechanism of the inter-organizational relationship conflict from the perspective of relationship capital elements mismatch through survey and deep interview of 187 companies from eight strategic networks. The results show that the dynamic matching of the organization relationship capital has direct influence on the enterprise competition and growth mode, but the mismatch of the organization relationship capital elements is the main cause of inter-organizational conflict and constraints; the mismatch of different relationship elements lead to different types of relationship conflicts. This paper uses the capital elements integration model to build the integrated theoretical framework of inter-organizational relationship conflict and provides a new explanation of inter-organizational relationship conflict in the network economy era.
