Analysis of China’s Service Trade Openness based on Ternary Margins of Trade |

Abstract Based on a comprehensive analysis of the status quo of China’s service trade, this paper innovatively calculates the decompositions of China’s service trade openness, from the perspective of ternary margins of trade. The results revealed that China’s service trade openness is low in general, which is related to China’s economic structure and economic growth pattern; openness in service trade is out of balance and the openness of service trade is mainly reflected in the intensive margin of quantity, which is not conducive to the sustainable development of China’s service industry and service trade. China should actively develop modern service industry, emphasize to enhance the technical content of service trade, absorb the new rules of international service trade to cultivate new competitiveness in the aspects of new technology research and development, human capital etc. so that effective path of facilitating the openness and development of China’s service trade can be explored and implemented.
