An Empirical Analysis on the Influencing Factors of China’s Retail Regional Agglomeration and its Policy Implications |

Abstract The role of regional agglomeration has become increasingly prominent in China’s retail industry and was gradually accepted. This paper analyzes the regional agglomeration of China’s retail industry trends with the spatial Gini coefficient and Location quotient, and makes an empirical analysis on the influencing factors of China’s retail regional agglomeration with the entity fixed model. The study finds that the regional agglomeration degree shows a declining trend, the investment in human capital is positively related to the regional agglomeration, while the government policy and the purchasing power of residents are negatively related to the regional agglomeration, As for the location, the development of the retail regional agglomeration is related to local consumption habits and others, and the eastern and central regions are more positively related, while the west negatively.
