Abstract Modern industrial system is a new concept that has important orienting influence on industrial development. It would be significant for theoretical study and practical application to deeply explore the viable paths and policies for constructing the modern industrial system. Based on the analysis of the theoretical connotations of the modern industrial system, this paper selects ShaoXing city as a case, analyzes the relationship between constructing modern industrial system and regional industrial development, and further explores the viable paths and policies for constructing regional modern industrial system.
