Abstract In the transformation and upgrading of tourism, a large number of new tourism operation models, which have become indispensable elements of modern tourism industry, have emerged. The paper conducts a theoretical research on tourism operation models. It analyzes the concept, characteristics, classification, components, generative mechanism and development pattern of tourism operation models. Finally, it puts forward the patterns and paths of tourism operation model innovation.
