Abstract The importance of statistical data quality brings out many kinds of frameworks or systems used to evaluate data quality; DQAF, designed by IMF, becomes popular because of its structural integrality and high inductivity. We conduct a study of the information content of dimensions and indicators of DQAF by applying information entropy theory. It is found that each dimension and indicator of DQAF contain unequal information both within different account and among accounts, and the producers of statistical account as well as the data type of account have a significant effect on the data quality. Base on the above conclusion, we bring forward some suggestions on improving DQAF.
