Abstract This paper defines the concepts such as platform-based B2B e-commerce model and transformation of enterprises into platform-based B2B e-commerce models, and makes a literature review. Then, a framework of such transformation strategy system is established based on the hierarchical study idea. The framework includes 5 levels: target level, theoretical level, process level, method level and external support level. Each level is analyzed in this paper. Furthermore, a case study of Shanghai Me Mechanical and Electrical Equipment Chain Co. Ltd. testifies the framework. Finally, the key steps of transforming Chinese enterprises into platform-based B2B e-commerce models are concluded, which would provide theoretical guidance for business practices in China.
