Abstract With the development of modern incentive system, employee ownership has been growing concern in theoretical and practical fields. On the basis of reviewing the previous strategic human resource management (SHRM) and employee ownership literatures, the paper found a lack of the theoretical models of the linking between the employee ownership and human resources management system. Based on this, from the view of configurational mode, the paper embeds employee ownership within SHRM framework, and builds the "ownership-high performance work system", which provides a theoretical basis for the empirical study on employee ownership.
