Abstract In this paper, we employ multiple regression analysis to find how much the growth of the distribution industry contributes to the national economy directly and indirectly. We arrived at three conclusions. Distribution industry itself is not a large industry and its contribution could be underestimated through traditional analysis. The distribution industry, however, is capable to contribute to the macro economy, radiate the regional economy, control the upstream industries and serve the consumption. It is one of the basic industries in a country. Unfortunately, the distribution systems hinder the contribution to the economic growth and social development. Therefore its devotion has not been fully revealed.
