Abstract: Compared with the previous deviant behavior, the deviant behavior under the background of the digital economy development shows the characteristics of data combination and more serious damage. Based on the affective events theory, this study uses the data of 344 employees to explore the mechanism and boundary conditions of authoritarian leadership on employees' deviant behavior, and verifies the mediating effect of psychological contract violation and the moderating effect of individual self-esteem. The results show that individual self-esteem can moderate not only the relationship between authoritarian leadership and employees' psychological contract violations, but also the relationship between psychological contract violations and employees' deviant behavior. When the level of individual self-esteem is high, the positive influence of authoritarian leadership on psychological contract violation is enhanced, while the positive impact of psychological contract violation on employees' deviant behavior is weakened. The research results expand the understanding of the effect of authoritarian leadership and provide a new perspective for understanding the relationship between authoritarian leadership and employees' deviant behavior. It also promotes the development of dynamic research on individual self-esteem, which will offer some practical implications for enterprises.
